What is the Search Feature?

It’s a feature that helps you easily find YouTube music in BGMS. Just enter the song title or artist name to play music right away.

Why is setup needed?

You need Google’s permission to search for music on YouTube. That’s why a simple authentication process is required. But don’t worry - only one channel member needs to set it up!

What is Google Access Token?

It’s an authentication key that grants permission to access the YouTube API. Think of it as an ‘entry pass’ to use YouTube search.

Setup Instructions

  1. Open search settings menu on BGMS settings page
  2. Sign in with Google account
  3. Get Access Token
  4. Enter Token in BGMS
  5. Done!

Having Issues?

If you encounter problems, try generating the Token again. Starting over from the beginning usually solves most issues.

Token is personal information
  • Don’t share your Token with others
  • Don’t post your Token in public channels
  • If your Token is leaked, regenerate it immediately
The Token only grants YouTube API access and cannot access your Google account password or personal information. You can still enjoy BGMS without setting up the search feature:
  • Listen to music added by other members: You can play songs already added by others
  • Manage playlists: You can freely manage and play existing music
  • Direct YouTube URL input: You can add directly if you know the URL
Team collaboration is possibleIf even one channel member sets up the search feature, all members can use it together. Work with your teammates!
